The Indian harmonium is a powerful musical instrument to accompany yourself and others in mantra chanting and is much easier to learn than you might think. However, leading a group chant or opening your voice can be more challenging. Can you relate to that?

Join this workshop to gain technical Knowledge on how to play the Harmonium. Experience the Power of your voice and practice how to lead chants and mantras in an inspiring way that will empower your students to explore their voices.

What you will learn

Understanding the Harmonium-

●  Chords 101 - Understanding how to build basic chords (Major, minor, Sharp) so you can explore the mantras you like.

●  Exploring and practicing an easy system to transition between chords so you can effortlessly play and lead chants.

●  Learning essential and relevant Mantras and Prayers in Sanskrit and their meanings.

●  An embodied practice to connect with the upper body, heart, throat and breath.

● And! Let’s chant together, Let the fear go!
You’ll get the opportunity to Lead a chant in a supportive group.

Who is this workshop for?

Passionate practitioners interested in getting to know the harmonium and their voices.
You don’t need any previous knowledge of Music, chords, notes, singing, etc. The workshop is adapted for beginners and advanced.

We will supply Harmoniums to play on.
If you own a Harmonium, please bring it along. The workshop will be held in English.

Your Teacher-

Shivani is a full-time yoga teacher with ten years of Yoga teaching experience and has facilitated groups and events for more than 20 years. She taught herself to play the Harmonium and would love to share her insights.
