Keep your New Year Resolutions!

Start your New Year fresh, with a tool kit to help you keep your resolutions! 

Get rid of self-destructive patterns or coping mechanisms that don’t serve you anymore, with the help of Yoga. 

This won’t be a “yoga only” workshop. We will try to better understand our coping mechanisms, our triggers and look at how to use yoga effectively in order to have a higher success rate in getting rid of habits which may be destructive, hurtful or that just no longer serve us.

I saw a need for this workshop when considering my own journey over these past few years. I have suffered from a process addiction for most of my life. I tried many different healing modalities over the years, but nothing seemed to work long-term until I checked myself into an in-patient rehab facility for a couple of months. After that I went on to study Kundalini Yoga and the yogic path to recovery – which offered many tools which can be implemented in our lives to help with things from bad habits, to more serious addictions.

What do I offer?

A half-day (3 hours) workshop explaining why we have addictive patterns or destructive habits which are hard to get rid of, and what some of the approaches and tools are to get rid of them long-term.  This workshop is strongly based on Kundalini Yoga. 

At the end of this workshop, you will have a toolkit to use on current habits you’d like to change, and on any future bad habits which may form. This toolkit will be made up of:

• Practical exercises which illuminate behaviours you’d specifically like to change, and which behaviours you can fall back on when you’re feeling vulnerable.

• 1 short Kriya (yoga set) for your daily practice 

• 2 anti-craving tools using breath work and meditation

• 1 daily meditation to clean subconscious and rewire your brain

• Some theory and personal experience about addiction and bad habits 

Kundalini yoga, the yoga of awareness

Kundalini yoga focus on achieving a particular result, such as helping a specific organ, body system, gland, chakra, clearing negative emotions, stabilizing the mind, or balancing the energy in your body.

The Power of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation lies in its ability to alter the brain and body chemistry if practiced regularly. 

KUNDALINI YOGA activates the Vagus nerve which helps us to relax. Stressful emotions are replaced with feeling of calm and well-being.

Das jetzige Jahr gemeinsam abschliessen und ganz simple einfach alles loslassen. Die Situationen die gut liefen sowie diese Dinge die nicht angenehm waren.

“Loslassen was wir nicht mehr verändern können.”

In der Yoga Practice nutzen wir dazu verschiedene Asanas um durch das Gewebe sowie energetisch alles Alte loszulassen.

Janet ist überzeugt davon das wir in der Lage sind dies zu tun. Simple letting go.

In diesem Workshop laden wir gemeinsam mehr Ruhe und Besinnlichkeit in unsere Vorweihnachtszeit ein. Wir fliessen durch eine zentrierende, wärmende, erdende Yogapraxis. Wir werden atmen, schwitzen, lachen und loslassen. Raum schaffen in und um uns. Dabei richten wir den Fokus vom Aussen wieder mehr ins Innen. Begeben uns auf eine Reise zum eigenen inneren Licht. Dieses nährt uns in der Dunkelheit, gibt uns Wärme, Kraft und Erdung durch den Winter. Wir wollen Gemeinschaft, Verbindung nach Innen und Herzenswärme wieder in den Mittelpunkt zu rücken und uns auf deren tiefere Bedeutung besinnen.

Mit einer genüsslichen langen, meditativen Yin Sequenz werden wir den Workshop ausklingen lassen. Es gibt warmen Tee und Adventliches zum Knabbern.

Schnapp dir eine Freundin, bringt Papier und Stift oder ein liebes Tagebuch und begibt dich auf eine Reise zu dir selbst. Im Dezember, wenn die Tage kurz sind und die Dunkelheit lang scheint, ist es von besonderer Bedeutung, sich mit dem inneren Licht zu verbinden.

You probably know for yourself that a regular meditation practice will benefit your life. But for so many of us, a long lasting commitment and dedication can be elusive. And those that do manage to devote themselves to a meditation practice often become disillusioned by the lineage or teachings that they so deeply trusted, or become overwhelmed by the challenges of the world and their developing sensitivity.

But don’t lose hope! All the answers that you are seeking for are readily available – in due time – inside yourself. The present moment contains all the wisdom that you need -  all the time. We just have to be open to learning how to listen. There is an innate guidance in each of us, unique and perfect, that weaves our lives into the tapestry of the Infinite. The more we tune into and give ourselves to this guidance, the happier and more fulfilled we will be. 

We are magnificent mysterious beings, living in a crazy, awesome, terrible, amazing world. Our lives and minds are so complex, we cannot possibly think ourselves out of the struggles of our life. But we are connected to – and essentially at one with - the Source of light and love from which we all came and to which we all will go back to; and when we can give ourselves the space to reconnect, to be in the flow, to allow all that is, we find that we are right where we need to be, and life becomes beautiful beyond words.

During this afternoon, teachings will be given on how to orient yourself toward a deep and fulfilling meditation practice – not a practice based on sitting silently for a given number of minutes per day, but a practice based on your own inner guidance, on what your soul wants.

Along with teachings, the workshop will include:

   -   A period of free movement to calming music to help us embody and release physical tension.

   -   Times of silent meditation

   -   Questions and answers, and sharing.

 

This workshop is designed for beginners and advanced meditators alike. With enough interest, a weekly Natural Meditation class will start in 2019 at Yoga Luna.

Basic practices will be explored to strengthen Shakti-prana and thus regulate the womens cycle; throughout all seasons of life.
